From VHS Tapes to Silver Part 2: UFOs By The Decade

From VHS Tapes to Silver Part 2: UFOs By The Decade

"Remember, the individual is cosmic" -David Lynch

Building on my lifelong fascination with UFOs that I shared in my previous blog- Pt 1, I'm thrilled to finally unveil a project that's been materializing in my studio: "UFOs by the Decade - 100 Years of Visitors” – a collection that transforms history's most compelling aerial mysteries into wearable art.

This project is my love letter to a century of unexplained phenomena, where reality dances with sci-fi and the impossible becomes... well, slightly less impossible.

"UFOs by the Decade" focuses on highlighting a specific UFO shape representative of each era. While certain UFO shapes gained prominence in specific decades—like triangle crafts in the 80s—these shapes have been observed throughout history, not confined to any single time period. Each piece captures a moment when someone looked up and saw something that challenged everything they thought they knew about our world.

While we know the UFO (now often referred to as UAP) phenomenon is deeply complicated and nuanced with enough high strangeness to make your head spin, this collection focuses on what we lovingly call the 'nuts and bolts' of it all – the seemingly physical craft that has graced our skies, baffled our pilots, and occasionally posed for the camera over the past hundred years.

From Kenneth Arnold's 1947 mid-flight sighting, which marked the modern UFO era's beginning, to the enigmatic craft in the Gimbal video, each design tells a story of wonder and possibility. I've carefully researched and recreated these historic sightings in sterling silver, preserving their mystery in physical form. Some pieces draw directly from witness accounts, while others are my artful interpretation of those encounters.

Some pieces capture those iconic moments you might recognize – like the Phoenix Lights' arc of illumination, or the classic 1960s saucer with its ethereal beam of light. Others represent lesser-known but equally fascinating encounters that deserve to be remembered.

Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast who can recite UFO cases in your sleep, or simply someone who loves the idea of wearing a piece of mystery around your neck, each piece in this collection is an invitation to wonder. To look up. To question. To imagine.

I can't wait to share these pieces with you!

Ever watching the skies,

Casey
