Morning Rituals for Becoming More Cosmically Connected
Share
Lately, it’s been hard to feel inspired or excited about the things I care most about.
There are so many chaotic and disturbing things happening right now.
Because of that, I’ve been going deeper with my rituals and practices.
Not to escape what’s happening, but to meet it differently.
It's helpful to have an intension going in. My intention has been to tap into a higher consciousness, with the goal of showing up for the greater good of everyone. But, if this doesn't resonate, set one that feels right for you.
In this guide, I’m sharing the exact morning ritual I’ve been practicing since the new year. It’s based on my usual routine but with a few key tweaks. This ritual blends frequency audio, meditation, visualization, somatic awareness, and intuitive movement. These are simple practices that help you start your day grounded, expanded, and connected.
Here’s what you’ll learn:
- a step-by-step morning ritual you can do in 30 minutes
- specific sounds, meditations, and YouTube channel links
- how meditation + visualization work together to shift your trajectory
- my favorite somatic and yogic stretches
- why avoiding screen time in the morning transforms your mindset
- how 30 days of this practice can change your body, mood, and consciousness
Note: I highly recommend the Insight Timer app. I pay for the premium version but the free version has tons of meditations to choose from.
The Morning Ritual for a Cosmically Connected Spirit
This ritual is designed to awaken your mind, support your nervous system, and open you to clarity and intuitive guidance for the day ahead. You can adapt it based on energy levels, time availability, or the season of life you’re in. If mornings feel too tight, adjust gently: wake up an hour earlier. And if you don’t want to lose sleep, just go to bed earlier. Or, if nighttime feels more aligned for this, so be it. It’s really about honoring yourself with intention.
Begin with Stillness and Frequency (Meditation – 11 minutes)
After waking up and before anything else — before your phone, before conversation — gift yourself this 30 minutes of presence. A little sidebar-Coffee talk: Don't torture yourself. If you are one of those people who absolutely needs coffee to wake up, then have it. This is not about depriving yourself. It's about being delibrated.
Let’s begin.
First, The Frequency Meditation.
Through a process called neural entrainment, sound frequencies can encourage the brain to settle into states linked with calm focus, creativity, and receptivity.
Sit quietly for 11 minutes while listening to alpha-wave binaural beats (10Hz). This specific frequency is connected to clarity, creativity, and calm focus — the very state you want for the rest of the day. Really, anywhere between 8-12 Hz works. Experiment with what feels right to you.
Suggested playlist:
Insight Timer has tons of options for brainwave frequency in the “timer” section. You can preset your time and the type of bell that starts and ends your meditation. For this, I use the Binaural Beat 10hz - "Brainwave" in the "ambient sounds" section. If you dont have Insight Timer, here's a good one on YouTube. Flow State. You'll just have to set your own timer for 11 minutes. You're not watching the screen on YT, you're just listening.
As you settle in:
- Breathe, slowly, in through the nose, out through the mouth
- Visualize releasing stagnant energy that’s built up overnight during sleep
- Clear your mind of thoughts
- Try to stay present. This is your main objective for this meditation
- If thoughts arise, without judgment, simply let them go.
- Be open, keep breathing, stay present
11 minutes is enough to shift your brain activity without feeling intimidating but see if you can go longer.
Guided Visualization (5–10 minutes)
Next, after the frequency meditation, I move into a guided visualization depending on what I’m working toward. This can be:
- connecting with a future version of yourself
- calling in abundance
- A shift in career direction
- healing your nervous system
- Or calling for peace and healing in our communities
Visualization isn’t “daydreaming.” It’s a practice that teaches the brain and body to work toward what you want with clarity and direction. There is science/data to back this. The brain doesn’t sharply distinguish between vividly imagined experiences and remembered ones, which is why visualization can influence how we think, act, and move toward the future we want.

Somatic or Yogic Stretching (10 minutes)
Then, after your visualization meditation you'll shift from mind to body. This is where I allow myself a little screen time, but only to follow a guided yoga practice. If you are able to do a yoga flow or sequence without guidance, even better.
Some days it’s intuitive stretching.
Some days it’s a short yoga flow.
The key is tuning into what your body needs right now.
You might choose:
- cat/cow for spine and breath
- gentle hip opening
- neck and shoulder release
- intuitive embodied movement
- a 10 minute guided yoga video
Suggested videos:
I really like @sarahbethyoga on Youtube. She has a great temperament and energy that feels aligned for me. She also has an easy to follow, Free 30 Day Yoga challenge. Each video is only 10 minutes which is a relatively painless commitment.
After this, your body feels awake, your mind feels clearer, and your breath is deeper and more regulated.
Bonus: What to Do After the Ritual
After your 30-minute session, resist the urge to immediately jump into to-do lists, notifications, or messages. Your nervous system is still open and receptive — this is a powerful window.
Instead, give yourself a few more minutes (5-15 mins) with something that feeds your soul:
- read a chapter from a book you love
- sit with a book of affirmations or meaningful quotes
- learn something you’re genuinely curious about
- write a few lines in a journal or notebook
Think of this as integration time. You’re allowing the clarity you just created to settle in, rather than being overwritten by urgency or noise.
This small pause helps anchor the ritual into the rest of your day.
The One Rule: No Screens Before Starting
This is non-negotiable:
Never, ever begin your day with normal screen time. Just enough to access your Insight Timer or meditation app.
Don’t check:
- texts
- emails
- news
- notifications
I know this sounds impossible to some but I assure you, your body-mind will thank you for it.
Why?
Because the moment you let your phone in, you let in:
- undue stress
- terror (especially now)
- everyone else’s energy
- everyone else’s urgency
- everyone else’s expectations
Your nervous system deserves a chance to wake up slowly.
What Happens After 30 Days
If you follow this morning ritual consistently for 30 days, you will notice profound shifts:
- calmer nervous system
- more emotional resilience
- clearer intuition
- increased energy
- deeper creativity
- more grounded presence
- less anxiety and overwhelm
- better decision making
- improved focus and flow throughout the day
You’ll feel more connected to your body, your mind, your spirit — and yes, even the cosmos.
Ritual creates rhythm.
Rhythm creates clarity.
Clarity creates change.
In Closing
This is generally a 30 minute commitment but even 10–15 minutes can shift the entire trajectory of your day. What matters is that you begin with yourself, not with the world.
If you try this ritual, let me know how you feel by the end of the first week. And if you want more cosmic, nature-rooted rituals, or symbolism deep dives, please let me know.
